Kevin Bacon's Entire Family Made a Horror Movie Together and SXSW Lost Its Mind
Movies & TV
Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick dragged their whole family into a meta horror comedy and it absolutely slayed at SXSW. "Family Movie" stars Kevin, Kyra, AND their kids Sosie and Travis Bacon, and apparently the crowd went feral for it. The Bacon-Sedgwick clan really said "why cast strangers when we have each other" and honestly? Iconic behavior.
"Ready or Not 2: Here I Come" brought exploding bodies and devil worship to SXSW and the vibes were unhinged. Samara Weaving is back for another round of rich-people-trying-to-kill-her, and Radio Silence literally told the audience "hope you guys have a f*ing loud, weird ride" before the premiere. Reviews say it's luridly preposterous and honestly that sounds like exactly what we need.
Gaten Matarazzo went full chaos mode in "Pizza Movie" and Finn Wolfhard is grieving Canadian stunt boys in "Crash Land." The Stranger Things kids are BUSY. Gaten's bad-trip comedy is apparently as dumb as the title suggests (complimentary), and Finn's doing a Jackass-meets-coming-of-age thing that somehow works. These two really said "we contain multitudes."
"Drag" starring Lizzy Caplan and Lucy DeVito starts as a petty theft movie and takes a hard left into serial killer territory. The title is not what you think it is — come for the crime, stay for the absolutely unexpected body count.
Music
50 Cent just dropped an untitled track out of nowhere. No album rollout, no title, just a fresh Fiddy loosie on Instagram like it's 2005. We love a man who doesn't overthink the marketing.
Olivia Rodrigo is up to something. The logo on her website just changed and fans spotted new branding being painted on a wall on Melrose Ave in LA. OR4 truthers, your time has come. The rollout is rolling.
Celebrity Tea
Matthew McConaughey, Demi Lovato, and other celebs who took pranks WAY too far are getting called out again. The Demi story about hiring someone to "surprise" her bodyguard in a Vegas hotel room resurfaced and yeah… that's not a prank, that's an HR violation. Some of these stories really don't age well.
TikTok & Internet
TikTok's search restrictions are getting increasingly bizarre. Users are reporting they can't even look up "feeding tubes" — a legitimate medical device — without getting completely blocked from search results. No bypass option, nothing. The content moderation is giving "we didn't think this through."
The auto-scroll feature is basically unusable thanks to ads. Every 2-3 videos you get hit with an ad that kills the scroll, which kind of defeats the entire purpose of the feature. TikTok really said "here's a convenience feature that we will make inconvenient."
